Accidental Hiatus
So, I may have taken an accidental hiatus, but I'm back and better than before!
In the last month, I've completely moved out of my former rental home and into my very own apartment! Most of my decorating is complete, and it feels like home. Thanks to my lovely friends, I was able to get all of my heavy furniture moved in in one day, and took little day trips to get the rest of the smaller things in. I’ve been fully living there for about three weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier. There is something really rewarding about being able to be on my own and truly independent, although my bank account may not agree with that statement.
As for work, it is going amazing. Really. I do believe I made the right choice in staying with Heart and continuing to develop my skills and abilities here. We’ve been swamped with preparing for our customer appreciation event, to be hosted at 360 Rooftop Bar in St. Louis. We’ll be watching a Cubs/Cards game, and I am so excited. I’ve really been inundating myself in the theme, and it has been an absolute blast. I’ve gotten the opportunity to really run with the concept I’ve created, and having almost full creative license on this has made this one of my favorite and best assignments so far.
I’ve also taken a surprising interest in our blog, and by interest, I mean love. I love blogging. Once again, I am given tons of creative freedom to write about what I feel is relevant and interesting. I’m encouraged to use my voice and thoughts to ultimately represent the online voice of our company, through blogs, social media posts, what I choose to share, etc. It’s a huge responsibility, but such an honor.
So far, post-grad life is not nearly as bad as expected. I am learning more and more each day, and I hope to continue taking advantage of all the amazing things that are out there for me.
