Apartment Envy

Today, I did a walk-through of the apartment I will be moving in to in less than a month. Yeah, it's tiny, but it's gonna be all mine! I am so incredibly excited to move in! This month can't fly by fast enough.

Embracing my natural giddiness and love of planning, I have been trolling Pinterest hard for decor and organization ideas. Seeing as I'll be living in 550 square feet, I'm looking for any suggestions of how to make the most of my space. I've decided I want to turn my hall closet into an office/sewing lab/workspace. I can easily close the door to hide the space when company is over or I just need more space. I'm also hoping to keep my dresser in my bedroom closet to clear up more precious ground space.

I was excited to find out I have a dishwasher too! This is the first time in my life that I won't be the designated dishwasher. There's also a ton of space for storage of food and kitchen utensils. It does look a little blah and sort of dated. I'm looking up ways to make the walls or cabinets and appliances look more exciting and more, well, me. I've got a few ideas in mind, so it'll be fun to see how it all plays out.

As for my room, I'm somewhat struggling with what to do with the headboard for my bed. In my former house, I had a black tri-fold stacked behind my bed that totally fooled everyone. Now that I'm at my own place, I think it might be time for an upgrade. I recently found a dilapidated dresser in the alley, so I'm thinking about (after a good cleaning) stacking the drawers and sides around each other to create a headboard with storage.

Overall, I feel like I've definitely got a good idea of what I'm looking to do, but I think I've still got a good ways to go before I'm complete. Things probably won't get completely figured out until I get settled in, but until then, I'm very content loading my pinboards and dreaming of move-in day.
