customer appreciation event: baseball game

On September 9, 2015, Heart Technologies hosted its customers to a day of networking and fun at 360 Rooftop Bar in St. Louis, MO for food, drinks, and a Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals game. Guests took coach buses stocked with drinks, snacks, games, and movies from Peoria, Springfield, and Decatur to St. Louis. Once arrived, guests were greeted at the door with drinks as they rode the elevator to the rooftop venue. Guests received top treatment in area specifically zoned off for Heart guests only. All were welcome to their choice of soft drinks and beer as well as tables of treats, from salty to savory to sweet. After the game, guests were bused back to their respected location and received a Heart Technologies folding chair as a parting gift.

what i learned:

As my first event as Marketing Coordinator, this event was my first dive into event planning and complete event branding on my own. Having had one past experience with this, I thought I was completely prepared for anything that would be thrown at me. Design-wise, I was. Planning, though, was a whole different ball game (pun intended).

Through this experience, I learned so much about the amount of work it takes to plan an event. Even the smallest of details, such as who will be put on what bus and dietary restrictions, need to be considered. I also learned to have multiple people proof your work. Ask your boss. Ask your coworker in the next room. Ask someone who has no clue what the event is. Does it make sense? Are all questions answered? As artists, we sometimes don't want someone else's opinion out of fear that it will influence our own thoughts. When it comes to corporate design, though, these opinions become a necessity in order to get it right the first time.
